This is a
\nquestion to ask about the means of something, as in \u201chow\u201d. <\/strong><\/p>\n

They are both used formally; however, \/kayfa\/ is never used in informal Arabic in all dialects. <\/p>\n

This is a question to ask about when something happens, as in \u201cwhen\u201d. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Both of these questions ask the question \u201cwhat\u201d, however, \u201cma\u201d doesn\u2019t used a verb while \u201cmatha\u201d does. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Add one letter to \u201cmatha\u201d and you get the question \u201cwhy\u201d in Arabic. The \u201cli\u201d part actually means \u201cfor\u201d, so it would be translated to \u201cfor what\u201d which gives the exact same meaning as \u201cwhy\u201d. <\/strong><\/p>\n
