\nhuman and as a human, you have a multitude of emotions that sometimes you just
\ncan\u2019t control. Anger is one of them. Some can control their anger better than
\nothers by showing restraint and trying to diffuse whatever made them angry in
\nthe first place. Others show no restraint at all and let cuss words fly out of
\ntheir mouth that would make the Devil himself blush with embarrassment. <\/p>\n
We\u2019re going to take the middle road in today\u2019s lesson by restraining ourselves and learning Arabic words and phrases that probably won\u2019t diffuse any situation, but may make you feel a lot better in the end. So, if you\u2019re traveling around the Arab world and somebody has made you angry, let them know with these Arabic words and phrases<\/a>.<\/p>\n When something is just so crazy and unbelievable use this Arabic expression meaning, \u201cWhat\u2019s this?\u201d For example: \u201cShu hayda? Somebody\u2019s slashed all four of my tires.\u201d<\/p>\n When enough is enough, say \u201ckhalas\u201d or in English \u201cEnough already!\u201d.<\/p>\n Again, not so much a word but a cry of exasperation like we would make an angry sigh or that sound we make with our lips like a tired horse in English when we\u2019re angry.<\/p>\n This is equivalent to the angry use of \u201cOh my God!\u201d, as in \u201cya allah<\/em>! Used with the actual \u201cokay\u201d hand gesture, it means \u201cYou better watch it because I will get you later. Okay?\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cYou’re not listening to me.\u201d or \u201cDo you understand the words that are coming out of my mouth?\u201d <\/p>\n \u201cWatch your mouth.\u201d Used when somebody is on the verge of insulting or really disrespecting you.<\/p>\n \u201cStop it.\u201d When somebody is doing something really annoying or perhaps throwing a tantrum you say \u201cwaqaf\u201d.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n \u201cI don\u2019t want to talk to you.\u201d The good old silent treatment works every time. <\/p>\n \u201cAre you kidding me?\u201d Usually they\u2019re not.<\/p>\n \u201cThis is so frustrating.\u201d You don\u2019t have to necessarily be angry to be frustrated and it\u2019s good to know that you can tell the difference.<\/p>\n This is a way of saying \u201cBe quiet\u201d.
