Just look at some expressions in Arabic like \u2018<em>ya rouhi\u2019<\/em> (\u201cYou are my soul\u201d) and the extreme \u2018<em>tu\u2019burn<\/em>ee \u2018 (\u201cMay you bury me.\u201d, popular in Lebanon) meaning \u201cI hope I die before you because I couldn\u2019t live without you.\u201d <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/staging.kaleelah.com\/blog\/the-most-influential-and-famous-arabs-in-2020-people-that-marked-history\/\">Arabs<\/a> believe that there are 10 degrees of  love. So, without further ado, here is the list of the 10 stages of love in Arabic language <\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-alhawa-attraction\"><strong>Alhawa (Attraction)<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Literally meaning &nbsp;\u201cthe wind\u201d, and more like a gentle breeze than a howling gust. This is when attraction and lust start to waft their way towards you from your potential lover and love is in the air.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-alsabwa-amusement\"><strong>Alsabwa (Amusement)<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>This is when love is out of its infancy, but not yet quite enough to be a relationship. You may enjoy each other\u2019s company and say nice things to each other. It\u2019s still not a romantic relationship, though the feelings you are still developing are too legit to quit.  <\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-alkalaf-infatuation\">A<strong>lkalaf (Infatuation)<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Uh oh! Things are about to get real as love is now having a physical effect on you. The word is related to the noun <em>kalif  <\/em>for \u201cdifficulty, distress, affliction\u201d. If you ever been in love, you know exactly what that means.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-al-ishiq-adulation\">A<strong>l&#8217;ishiq (Adulation)<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p> This stage can be described as the excessive love and profound admiration lovers experience when they become intimately familiar with each other. <\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-alshaghaf-passion\"><strong>Alshaghaf (Passion)<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>If you play with fire, you\u2019re going to get burned. Now you will start to feel the fire of love consuming your heart, starting with its outer layer known as the \u0634\u064e\u063a\u064e\u0627\u0641&nbsp;(<em>shaghaaf)<\/em><strong>.<\/strong> However, this is just beginning as that fire starts to heat up to the next degree.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-aljawaa-sorrow\"><strong>Aljawaa (Sorrow)<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>As the jawaa is closely related to the meaning of consumption, now your entire heart has been taken over and you start to feel its grief and sorrow.  <\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-altaym-enslavement\"><strong>Altaym (Enslavement)<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The verb \u062a\u064e\u0627\u0645\u064e&nbsp; (taam) means to love to the point where your heart is now a slave to your lover. You are no longer yours and now belong completely to the whims and desires of your beloved.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-altabal-malady\">A<strong>ltabal (Malady)<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Love, has now made your heart its home and turned against it, overwhelming and confusing it as a friend who betrays you with \u062a\u064e\u0628\u064e\u0644\u064e (tabal). The Arabic verb means \u201cto pursue with enmity, to retaliate in vengeance, to destroy\u201d. <\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-altadliyah-disorder\"><strong>Altadliyah (Disorder)<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>In this stage you are no longer yours, but you now belong to love which has totally consumed you. The Arabic \u0645\u064f\u062f\u064e\u0644\u0651\u0647 mudallah is a word used to describe a man who can no longer focus on anything. He is always in a state of complete disruption and confusion, rambling to and fro without knowing the right path to take and always stumbling through the dark.&nbsp;That\u2019s something to remember on next Valentine\u2019s Day.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-alhuyaam-insanity\"><strong>Alhuyaam (Insanity)<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Finally, ladies and gentlemen, we have \u0627\u0644\u0652\u0647\u064f\u064a\u064f\u0648\u0645&nbsp;(alhuyoom) or \u201cinsanity\u201d. Yes, love has finally got you &#8211; body, heart, and mind. You\u2019re no longer in control of anything, but controlled by love.&nbsp;So, the next time somebody says that they\u2019re crazy about you, well, that may not be so far from the truth.
