Jordan and Syria are neighboring countries. Both countries share commonalities in culture, religions and language. Both
\ncountries’ culture is based on Arabic and Islamic elements. Still, Each country
\nhas its own unique physical, historical and cultural geography.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The largest religious group in Jordan and Syria are
\nthe Muslims. Although Islam is the dominating religion, there are many
\nChristian groups found in both countries 
\nand are varied, such as Greek, Oriental Orthodox, Roman Catholic,<\/span> <\/span><\/a><\/span>and others.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The largest cultural-linguistic group are Arabs in
\nJordan and Syria. But also Circassians, Chechens, Turks and Armenians are the
\nbase of the cultural body of both countries.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Social and family loyalty is of great importance in
\nJordanian and Syrian culture. Family is one of the most important elements of
\nsociety. Family loyalty and bonds are the most important lesson taught in

\nRefugees in Jordan<\/o:p><\/span><\/h1>\n

<\/p>\n

Jordan is hosting around 662,000 registered Syrian
\nrefugees as of 2019. The refugees fled from Syria due to the war in 2011.
\nJordan has three registered refugee camps for Syrians, which are Zaatari,
\nMrajeeb Al Fhood and Azraq.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

Syrian refugees in Jordan are made of different ethnic
\nand religious backgrounds. The majority are Arabs, including Syrian
\nPalestinians, Syrian Turkmen and Syrian Kurds.<\/span><\/p>\n

Jordanian culture and religion have been influenced by

\nhistorical and biblical sites. The country has many wonders from the endless
\ndesert, to the Dead Sea, and the ancient city of Petra. Significant cultural
\nfeatures are traditional Jordanian music and Jordanian food.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Jordanians are generally friendly, kind, magnanimous
\nand hospitable. They are generally socially conservative. Family values \u200b\u200band
\nhonor are strongly defended. The people of Jordan are proud of their rich

Arabic is the official language in Jordan. English
\nhappens to be the second official language of the country. In some private

The Music and Dancing<\/b><\/h2>\n

The country-style songs, known as Zajal, are performed
\nalongside improvised poetry on various instruments. Traditional Jordanian
\nMusical Instruments are Tablah, reed pipe, Oud, Arghul, Mijwiz, Rababah and
\nDaf.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

As for dancing, Jordan is famous for its own style of
\n\u201cDabkeh\u201d. \u201cDabkeh\u201d is a traditional group form of dance, popular among Bedouins
\nand non-Bedouins. People line up shoulder to shoulder and move in a circle,
\nfollowing certain steps and stomps. \u201cDabkeh\u201d is usually performed in
\ncelebrations like weddings.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Food<\/b><\/h2>\n


<\/b><\/h2>\n

The most famous Jordanian Dish is \u201cMansaf\u201d. Mansaf is
\nmade of a combination of rice, lamb meat cooked in \u201cJameed\u201d.  For those who don\u2019t know, \u201cJameed\u201d is a
\nyogurt sauce made of goats\u2019 milk. The dish is garnished with fried nuts such as
\nalmonds. Jordanians also use \u201cShrak\u201d bread in the making of \u201cMansaf\u201d.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cHummus\u201d and \u201cFalafel\u201d are traditional foods in
\nJordan. Jordanians often eat them for breakfasts and dinners. They\u2019re
\ntraditionally eaten on Fridays for breakfast.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Most of Jordanian dishes are based on either Chicken
\nor Lamb. They are more common than beef and fish.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

It\u2019s important to mention that it\u2019s easy to follow a
\nvegan or vegetarian diet in Jordan, because Jordanians use various vegetables in
\ntheir dishes.<\/span><\/p>\n

Traditionally, Jordanian women used to wear long
\nflowing dresses with intricate embroidery and intricate details. While men wore
\n\u201cThawb\u201d or \u201cDishdasha\u201d, which is a plain long robe with long sleeves.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Although it\u2019s not common anymore to dress up like that
\nfor both men and women, it still can be seen in rural areas, and also in
\ntraditional occasions like weddings and religious holidays.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Business Culture in Jordan<\/b><\/h2>\n

<\/h2>\n

In Jordan both governmental and private business
\nsectors exist. Private businesses are both local and international. Jordan is
\nfamous for its agriculture, producing various sorts of fruits and vegetables,
\nand also wheat. Other traditional industries are potash extraction and
\nphosphate mining. Refining petroleum, chemical manufacturing, and production of
\nmetals and minerals, are all solid industries in Jordan. The service sector
\ncovers tourism, transport, finance and banking, and also wholesale and retail
\ntrading.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

The work week in the private sector is usually from
\nSunday to Thursday. And Usually from 08:30 to 18:00 with one hour for lunch
\nbreak.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

While the government sector shares the same work week
\ndays, its working hours are different, to be from 08:00 to 15:00.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n
