Going Back in Time<\/span><\/h1>\n

<\/p>\n

In Arabic, the past tense (<\/span>\u0641\u0650\u0639\u0644<\/span> <\/span>\u0645\u0627\u0636\u064a<\/span> \/ <\/span>fi\u2018l maadhee<\/span> )is used to talk about something that has already happened and is finished. For example:<\/span><\/p>\n

In this case, the letter was written sometime in the past and I am no longer writing it.<\/span><\/p>\n

Let\u2019s Get Together<\/span><\/h1>\n

<\/p>\n

Perhaps the most important thing to learn about Arabic verb tenses is conjugation. In Arabic this means adding letters at the end of the verb to make it agree with other words in a sentence. <\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

For instance, when conjugating in the first person singular, after the (<\/span>\u0643\u064e\u062a\u064e\u0628\u064e<\/span>), the past tense is made by adding the Arabic suffix (\u0640\u0640\u062a\u064f) for the singular first person, (\u0640\u0640\u0646\u0627) for the plural first person\u2019 to the end of the verb. For instance:<\/span><\/p>\n

Conjugating in the Third Person<\/span><\/h1>\n

<\/p>\n

When it comes to the masculine third person singular (<\/span>\u0641\u064e\u0639\u064e\u0644\u064e<\/span>) should be followed by the verb. In this case, no suffix need be added as here we\u2019re using the root of the verb in the masculine case. For example:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u0647\u064f\u0648\u064e \u0641\u064e\u0639\u064e\u0644\u064e<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

\/huwa fa \u2018ala<\/span>\/<\/span><\/p>\n

However, the feminine is (insert Arabic letters here) should be followed by the verb with the suffix (\u062a):<\/span><\/p>\n
