Well, you\u2019ve come to the right place because today Kaleela\u2019s going to teach you a little bit about the Present Tense in Arabic. <\/span><\/p>\n

You see, in Arabic, the Present Tense is used to express both habitual and ongoing actions. For example, right now you\u2019re  learning Arabic, and assuming you haven\u2019t mastered it, learning Arabic is an ongoing action for you. Thus, in Arabic you would use the present tense to say that:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u0623\u064e\u0646\u0627 \u0623\u064e\u062a\u064e\u0639\u064e\u0644\u0651\u064e\u0645\u064f \u0627\u0644\u0639\u064e\u0631\u064e\u0628\u0650\u064a\u0651\u064e\u0629\u064e<\/span><\/p>\n

\/\u2019anaa \u2019ata\u2018allamu il\u2018arabiyyah\/<\/span><\/p>\n

I learn Arabic.<\/span><\/p>\n

With that being said, let\u2019s get started on today\u2019s lesson so we can talk about that unfinished business and move on to learning even more Arabic.<\/span><\/p>\n

Let\u2019s Get Together Again<\/span><\/h1>\n

<\/p>\n

Just like in the Arabic Past Tense<\/a> that we\u2019ve recently talked about, the Present Tense in Arabic also relies on the conjugation of verbs. (Again, conjugation is just a fancy way of saying that you have to add letters to the root verb to make agree with other words in the sentence.)<\/span><\/p>\n

To form the present tense in Arabic, a prefix has to be attached to the root verb, as in:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u0646\u064e\u062d\u0652\u0646\u064f \u0646\u064e\u0630\u0647\u064e\u0628\u064f<\/span><\/p>\n

To conjugate in the 1st person in the Arabic present tense, use the prefix (<\/span>\u0622<\/span>), as in:<\/span><\/p>\n

In the 1<\/span>st<\/span><\/span> person plural, the prefix (<\/span>\u0646\u0640<\/span>) is used. For example:<\/span><\/p>\n

Conjugating the Present Tense in the 2nd Person<\/span><\/h1>\n

<\/p>\n

In the Arabic present tense, when conjugating in the 2nd person, the masculine singular noun should be followed by the verb with the prefix (<\/span>\u062a\u0640<\/span>) added to the beginning of the verb:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u0623\u064e\u0646\u0652\u062a\u064e \u062a\u064e\u0641\u0652\u0639\u064e\u0644\u064f<\/span><\/p>\n

Likewise, the feminine singular noun should be followed by the verb with the prefix (\u062a\u0640) added to the beginning; however, it also gets the suffix (\u0640\u064a\u0646) added to the end, like so:<\/span><\/p>\n

When it comes to the masculine 3rd person singular, the verb takes the prefix (<\/span>\u064a\u0640<\/span>). For example:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u0647\u064f\u0648\u064e \u064a\u064e\u0641\u0652\u0639\u064e\u0644\u064f<\/span><\/p>\n

However, the feminine is (\u062a\u064e\u0640\u0640\u0640) should be followed by the verb with the prefix (\u062a):<\/span><\/p>\n
