Hello! For those of you who have been following us for quite some time, welcome back to the Kaleela blog. And for those of you who are joining us for the first time, we\u2019d like to invite you to join us today as we continue our series on the Arabic alphabet where we\u2019ll be looking at the letter<\/span> \u0646<\/span> \/<\/span>noon<\/span>\/ today.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Shapes of <\/span>\u0646<\/span> \/<\/span>noon<\/span>\/<\/span><\/h1>\n

The Arabic letter <\/span>\u0646<\/span> \/<\/span>noon<\/span>\/ is a consonant letter and sounds exactly like the English \u201cn\u201d.\u00a0 Along with most of the other Arabic letters you\u2019ve learned about, the shape of <\/span>\u0646<\/span> \/<\/span>noon<\/span>\/ changes depending on where it falls in a word \u2013 that is, it changes shape if it comes at the beginning of the word (initial), the middle of the word (medial), or the end of the word (final).\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We\u2019ll start with the shapes of <\/span>\u0646<\/span> \/<\/span>noon<\/span>\/ by looking at its stand-alone shape (<\/span>\u0646<\/span>). Notice how it looks like a \u201cu\u201d with a dot above it.<\/span><\/p>\n
