Well, have you noticed yet that many sounds in Arabic don’t have an equal in English? That\u2019s what we\u2019ll be discussing today as we look at some of the most difficult sounds to master in the Arabic language starting with the letter \u02bbayn\/ <\/span>\u0639<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n


<\/b><\/p>\n

The Letter \u02bb<\/span>ayn<\/span>\/<\/span>\u0639<\/span><\/h1>\n


<\/b><\/p>\n

Indeed,  learning to pronounce the letter <\/span>\u02bbayn<\/span>\/ <\/span>\u0639<\/span> with a tight constriction at the very back of the throat isn\u2019t the easiest thing for those beginning to learn Arabic to do. <\/span><\/p>\n


<\/b><\/p>\n

And if you noticed in the Arabic script, the letter \u02bb<\/span>ayn<\/span>\/<\/span>\u0639<\/span> also takes on a different shape depending on where it falls in the word. However, we\u2019ll get to that later. <\/span><\/p>\n

For now, you\u2019ll see that, because there is no equivalent English letter, the letter \u02bb<\/span>ayn<\/span>\/<\/span>\u0639<\/span> is often transliterated using a single apostrophe (\u02bb) as in the following: <\/span><\/p>\n

The big \u201cH\u201d or Haa\u2019\/ <\/span>\u062d<\/span> is breathier like the sound you make when cleaning your eyeglasses with your breath.<\/span><\/p>\n
