On the other hand, nouns without an article in front of them are usually indefinite. For example: <em>a book<\/em> &#8211; \u0643\u062a\u0627\u0628<\/p>\n<p>How you should pronounce the definite article is totally dependent on the letter that comes after it. In the example below it is pronounced \u201cal\u201d like the nickname for Albert or Alvin and the letters that follow this pattern are called \u201cmoon letters\u201d (\u0627\u0644\u062d\u0631\u0648\u0641 \u0627\u0644\u0642\u0645\u0631\u064a\u0629).<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table is-style-stripes\">\n<table>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td>the moon<\/td>\n<td>\u0627\u0644\u0640\u0642\u0640\u0645\u0631<\/td>\n<td>moon<\/td>\n<td>\u0642\u0640\u0645\u0631<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/figure>\n<p>When \u0627\u0644\u0640 is attached to words that begin with certain letters known as \u201csun letters\u201d (\u0627\u0644\u062d\u0631\u0648\u0641 \u0627\u0644\u0634\u0645\u0633\u064a\u0629), the l isn&#8217;t pronounced at all. Instead the first letter of the word is either pronounced twice or stressed. That symbol is called a shadda. Recognizing and remembering these letters will help you determine how to pronounce them when it comes to Arabic speaking practice.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-arabic-indefinite-articles\">Arabic Indefinite Articles<\/h2>\n<p>To use the indefinite article in Arabic, you really don\u2019t add anything at all \u2013simply just leave the word with no article.
