You can start looking at bona fide resources such as Arab media that\u2019s been created for Arabic speakers by Arabic speakers. Let\u2019s say, for instance, you\u2019re into cooking. As a result, you\u2019ve chosen to watch a cooking show. At the start of the show, you\u2019ll hear the chef address his or her viewers using common Arabic greetings. You\u2019ll also hear the chef using words like fulful <\/em>(\u201cpepper\u201d) in a number of ways like fulful har<\/em>, fulful ahmar<\/em>, or fulful aswad<\/em> (\u201chot pepper\u201d, \u201cred pepper\u201d, and \u201cblack pepper\u201d, respectively). In other words, you\u2019ll be using words that native speakers use in their writing and speaking. Whenever you have a few spare minutes, start at the top and work your way down, giving everything a try. Some resources you\u2019ll love, some you won\u2019t. At least you\u2019ll see your Arabic improving. And don\u2019t forget to include resources that\u2019ll improve your listening and speaking skills, too! You\u2019ll then be reducing as many barriers as you can to work on these language skills at the same time that you\u2019re learning them.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Remember when you\u2019re stuck in an Arabic moment and you can\u2019t seem to get out of it, you\u2019re not alone. The advice of others will help you see what they did to overcome their slumps.
