In other words, it makes it look and sound like the word \u0641\u0627\u0639\u0644.<br \/>Let\u2019s take a look at this example:<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u0643\u0633\u0631 \/kasara\/ Break<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u0643\u0627\u0633\u0631 \/kasir\/ Breaker<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u0643\u062a\u0628 \/kataba\/ Write<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u0643\u0627\u062a\u0628 \/katib\/ Writer<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Notice that an alif \u0623 is added to make the active participle resemble the word \u0641\u0627\u0639\u0644.<\/p>\n<p>Now some words don\u2019t function the same such as the following:<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u0635\u0631\u0651\u062d \/sarrah\/ (he) stated<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u0645\u0635\u064e\u0631\u0650\u062d \/mosarrih\/ Stater<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u0627\u0633\u062a\u0623\u0646\u0641 \/ista\u2019nafa\/ (he) appealed<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u0645\u0633\u062a\u0623\u0646\u0650\u0641 \/mosta\u2019nif\/ Appealer<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Notice that in these examples, it is not possible to turn them into \u0641\u0627\u0639\u0644 form so we add a \u0645 \/meem\/ and place a kasra to the second last letter.<\/p>\n<p>This is similar to the English verb tenses where an \u2013ing is placed for an ongoing action, or an \u2013ed for something that happened in the past.
